Tessa birth story

I am happy to share the story of Tessa's birth, some of you know my pregnancy was fairly monitored and controlled by the risk of suffering pre-eclampsia again like my previous pregnancy, Sofi was premature and she was born at week 34 so my doctor said we would not take the risk with this baby and she programmed me for induction.

I arrived at the hospital at 7:30 in the morning accompanied by sofi and my husband 🙂 we were calm and happy, well I was a little nervous and anxious about how everything would turn out, I was dilating  2cm and 9:30 am and they put the pitosin, at 11 am I was dilating 4cm and the nurse asked me if I wanted an epidural because the anesthesiologist had a surgery scheduled so he could do it now or come back two hours later, so we decided to get it then.

That my doctor had programmed to be induced was perfect, having my baby with natural childbirth and having an epidural was what we chose and what worked perfect for me and my family, I respect opinions about this and I think that what each mother chooses It is perfect for your baby and your family as it was for me.

With this delivery I felt everything was easier, calm and fast, so after the epidural my doctor came broke the water and at arround 3:15 pm  I had dilated a little more but not enough, my nurse suggested putting a small pilates ball between my legs and turned to the side, which worked perfect because in less than an hour I was ready to give birth.

At 4 in the afternoon I felt pressure to push and told my doctor. so I was dilated to 9 and ready to push. So I started pushing. I only pushed 4 times and my little Tessa was born at 4:15 on December 14!

An amazing and magical experience, my midwife and nurses were amazing, I was so happy to have the opportunity to have my baby on my chest and share with her that special and magical moment, Corey had the opportunity to cut the umbilical cord and it was an amazing experience for us.

Tessa was born weighing 7 pounds and 3 oz., she measured 19 cm.

The moment Sofi met Tessa was one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever lived, I will never forget Sofi's face when she saw her little sister, an incredible chemistry, a pure and magical love, she wanted to hug her, kiss her and show her to everyone who was with us that day!

We gave Sofi a gift from Tessa and she love it, we gave her a camera and she didn't stop taking pictures of me, the baby and everyone in our room 🙂 !

My little Tess was perfect, I felt very good but we had to stay in the hospital one more day to be sure nothing of my previous preclaimsia or something surprised us. Everything went well. I am very grateful for my doctor and nurses who accompanied us throughout the process of my pregnancy and on the day of delivery. We are happy and grateful for such a beautiful experience and for these moments in family that will be with us forever!
